      ARTiculation Prize 2019

Christine presents on Afremov at ARTiculation Prize 2019

Congratulations to Sixth Former (Y12) Christine Luo, who participated in this year's ARTiculation Prize and delivered a brilliant presentation at the Royal Academy of Art, in front of esteemed artist Christine Salter and various other guests.

Christine's presentation focused on Leonid Afremov and looked at his painting "Street of the Old Town", to see more about Leonid and his work, please click here.

Rebecca Salter praised all presentations, stating that listening to the speakers was hugely encouraging, and referred to a quote by Patrick Heron: ‘To become conscious of what your eyes can bring in to your brain is endlessly satisfying.’ In particular, Rebecca Salter praised Christine for introducing the audience to a new artist and for her impressive analysis and methodical approach.

The ARTiculation Prize is the Roche Court Educational Trust's national public speaking competition for students aged between 16 and 19. Students are encouraged to present on a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice, in front of an audience and an adjudicator from a museum or gallery. ARTiculation is designed to help engage students into looking at and speaking about art and architecture.

This year over a thousand students entered the ARTiculation Prize, so huge congratutions to Christine for making it to the regional heat.
