    American college basketball scholarships

This summer, eight CoLA pupils flew to the States to begin four-year basketball scholarships, continuing our respected record of sending students to America’s elite universities.

Since City of London Basketball Academy launched, in 2013, our students have earned scholarships at universities including Wake Forest in North Carolina, California’s Santa Clara University and Wagner College in New York.

We regularly take students to the States for exposure tournaments, where they will play in front of 400-500 college scouts.

We are also one of 20 schools offering the Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) Programme, a training and development route for young players with basketball talent.

I always dreamt of playing college basketball in America. I never thought I would achieve it, but CoLA helped me realise my dream.

There are so many talented people here, it makes you raise your game. Now I am about to start my basketball scholarship in America, and it would not have been possible without CoLA.

    Ladun Akako – Year 13

It’s been amazing year to be part of the CoLA girls’ team. We are the WEABL champions - officially the best girls’ basketball school in the country! We wanted to bring something home to say a massive thank you to the school for their support. It meant a lot to all of us.
