      Introduction

City of London Academy specialises in Business and Enterprise, also known as Information Technology. Prospective students can complete an online Information Technology Aptitude Test that evaluates their aptitude for Information Technology.

CoLA Southwark allocates up to 24 places (10 per cent of the cohort) each year through this test.

      Information technology aptitude test

An application form can be downloaded from this page, is included in the school prospectus and can also be collected from the academy reception and must be returned to the academy by the 28th September 2018.

The Information and Technology Aptitude test will take place at the City of London Academy (Southwark) on Saturday 13th October 2018. Once you have completed the Information and Technology Aptitude test application form, you will be invited by appointment to attend on the 13th October 2018.

Please note: All applicants are required to complete their Local Authority Application by the Wednesday 31st October 2018.

We suggest students use the following websites to prepare for their test:

      Banding Test

Part of the admissions oversubscription criteria for the academy is that prospective pupils sit a Banding Test.

This year the banding test will be carried out on Thursday 29th November at City of London Academy (Southwark). Parents / carers are notified of the allocated time for their child’s Banding Test.

Due to the administrative requirements in organising the Banding Tests, together with information gained from the London borough of Southwark, we are unable to issue results before the deadline for secondary school application. However, we do provide outcomes with the minimum delay.

      How to apply

All applicants must complete their Local Authority Common Application form by Wednesday 31st October 2018.

      How to appeal

Information on how to appeal a decision is available in the guidance document on this page.
