      Welcome to City of London Academy Sixth Form, a student-led centre of excellence in the heart of Southwark specialising in business, enterprise and sport. CoLA Southwark is a Sixth Form that feels like a university, where the vast majority of our students progress to higher education or apprenticeships. Student leadership and academic excellence are at the heart of our ethos and we support every individual to meet their aspirations. We strive to help you unlock your potential, preparing you successfully for university, your career and life after you leave our academy.

      A Sixth Form for students, designed by students

      There has never been a more exciting time to join City of London Academy Sixth Form, in our new, state-of-the-art purpose-built Sixth Form building. This environment, just yards from our current site, caters for 400 post-16 students. Students thrive in a flexible space that looks and feels like a university campus, including a large study centre, cafeteria, meeting rooms, study and breakout areas. The building was designed by our current students, an incredible feat that reflects our strong, unique student voice and leadership. We believe this unrivalled learning environment will inspire every student to reach their potential.

      Academic excellence

      City of London Academy Sixth Form is renowned for its academic success, with a 99 per cent pass-rate at A-E last year and 100 per cent of our students progressing to higher education or apprenticeships. 20 per cent of students applying to University gain places at the prestigious Russell Group universities and almost 50 per cent of students gaining places at top 50 universities (Guardian University League tables).

      But we are about more than academic achievement. We want every student to enjoy their time here and we were recently awarded the Investors in Careers award for our dedication to student wellbeing and personal development.

      We are also one of 16 schools nationally to be awarded Basketball Academy status by Basketball England.

      Careers and progression

      Our students follow a whole range of a career paths when they leave the academy, with many joining Russell Group universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Exeter, Imperial College, King’s College, University College London, Queen Mary and Nottingham.

      Others study popular undergraduate courses including business management, engineering, law, medicine, computing, politics, biological sciences, sociology and nursing.
