At the City of London Academy we believe that the parents of pupils should be fully involved in, and fully committed to, the Academy. We make sure that parents are regularly informed of events at the Academy through a weekly newsletter and this website. We also provide information about what the pupils are learning, and encourage the parents to be involved in their children's learning. We want our parents to be part of the teaching and learning environment at the Academy, and we actively encourage a partnership in education between the Academy and parents.

	Hi I'm Lorraine, the Parent Support Advisor at CoLA. My role is to support parents and carers, to build bridges between home and school and to support parental involvement within the City of London Academy. I can support you with any issues regarding your childs welfare and progress, and any advice or support you may need as parents of the Academy. I also have contact with outside agencies which means I am able to signpost you in the right direction for parent courses and much more! Please feel free to contact me at anytime and 'pop-in' to see me at 8.30am-9am and anytime after 2.30pm. Simply ask for me at reception. It is important that we keep our records of your children up-to-date. If you think your child's record is incorrect, please contact the Academy (020 7394 5100 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting            020 7394 5100      end_of_the_skype_highlighting). To amend your child's personal details you can complete the Amend Personal Details form and send it to the Academy by post or bring it to the General Office.

 

Parents and Friends of the Academy

PAFOTA brings together parents, teachers, and the local community in a collaborative effort to promote the City of London Academy.

 

Our aim is to work with, assist and encourage the school by providing support and feedback, as well as being actively involved in events that will help create a school of which we can all be proud.

 

We are looking for as many parents as possible to join us, because the more parents who are involved, the greater the contribution we will make to the success of the school.  In 2010/2011, we hope to do more fund-raising and encourage more engagement with parents and friends.
