On Thursday the 4th of February we had the Maths elite of Years 9, 10 and 11 students sit the Intermediate Maths Challenge Paper. The Maths Challenge Papers are part of the UK’s biggest national Maths competitions, and last year over 600,000 pupils from 4,500 schools took part. The top scoring 40% of the entrants receive Bronze, Silver or Gold certificates based on their mark in the paper. COLA students did a fantastic job, gaining a total of 15 certificates. Damani Richards and Timothy Ekeh achieved gold, and Tim has been invited to sit the European Grey Kangaroo paper. Fahimul Amin, Yuexi Xiao, David Bensalem, Joseph Dudley, Ochan Akom, Mahfuz Karim, Kunal Patel and Nathan Punzala all achieved silver, and Aminat Amoo, Deji Davies, Taylor Corps, Jeremy Lieu and Hoi Fung achieved bronze. This superb effort will be highly rewarded with the Gold certificate winners being awarded 100 Vivo miles. Silver certificate winners will get 50 Vivos and and the Bronze winners will get 25. The Maths department congratulates all participants!
