The Queen's birthday celebrations

The City of London Academy were proud to recognise the extraordinary contribution of the Queen to our nation and celebrate her reaching 90 on the 21st of April. Pupils participated in several activities aimed at promoting their sense of Britishness and understanding of institutions such as the monarchy.

Pupils took part in a tutor time monarchy quiz before practicing the national anthem ahead of the big sing at break led by our award-winning music department. Pupils wore Union Jack stickers on their blazers or shirts and enjoyed the wares at our royal cake sale while raising funds for cancer research.

There was then a second rendition of God Save the Queen at 2.40 marking the time of the Queen's birth.

God save the Queen!
