British Bobsleigh and Skeleton City Push Track championships

A  group of 6 year 10 girls and boys were invited to the inaugural British Bobsleigh and Skeleton City Push Track championships at the Honourable Artillery Club in London, where a 70m purpose built course was constructed for the event. City of London Academy were the only School in attendance at the prestigious invitation only event.

Students were given Training by Olympians in both the Bobsleigh and skeleton events and quickly picked up the basic technique to later compete against other teams from businesses across London.

The students performed well and enjoyed meeting and learning from the Olympic athletes and their coaches who were impressed at their rate of learning and willingness to take part.

The students listened to a talk with Q &A given by three Olympic Gold medallists, Lizzy Yarnold who achieved a Gold Medal in the Skeleton at the 2015 Sochi Winter Olympics, Adrian Moorhouse who achieved a Gold Medal in the 100m Breaststroke at he 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics and Mark Hunter who achieved a Gold Medal in the Lightweight Double Skull at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.  The message for success is clear and applies to school, work life and success at sport - be passionate at what you do and keep trying, don't give up!
