CoLA News

The City of London Academy (Southwark) has a prestigious roster of past students who have undertaken extra-curricular activities, successfully gained entry into Russell Group universities and are pursuing professional careers that would be of interest to our CoLA Sixth Form students.  In short, our past students have a wealth of knowledge and experience that would be invaluable in raising and broadening the aspirations and skills base of current students.   In having access to someone like you i.e. someone from a similar background, who has had a CoLA education, and gone on to be successful sends a powerful message to our current students that they too can achieve.   If you have the time, we would welcome your support.  Volunteer to become an Alumni Member today and ‘let your success be their success’.

4 Ways You Can Help Current Sixth Form Students

  1. Act as a Role Model: If you are a professional, entrepreneur or still undertaking your studies in further/ higher education your knowledge, skills and experiences will be invaluable in inspiring our current students.
  2. Be a Mentor/E-Mentor: Individual and small-group mentoring can allow students to learn from people like you.  Mentoring can provide an insight into higher education and specific job sectors, as well as guide students through educational and career pathways.
  3. Broker Work Experience: Here at CoLA we have an award winning Investors in Careers programme.  Part of the reason why it is such a success is because we are always on the look out for high quality work experience places.  Therefore, if you can provide work experience, work shadowing and/or internship opportunities, we would like to hear from you.
  4. Volunteer at our Events: Whether its to help with UCAS applications, CV writing, interview techniques or more, we would greatly appreciate your time and skills in supporting current students progress into higher education and/or the world of work.
