Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST)

Non-specialist teachers of mathematics, physics, modern foreign languages (MFL) and former teachers who are returning to the teaching profession can complete subject specialism training in secondary:

·         mathematics

·         core maths

·         physics

·         modern foreign languages (French and Spanish)

The purpose of this training is to improve the subject knowledge of non-specialist and returning teachers.

The course is FREE through funding provided by the National College for Teaching (NCTL) to teachers who meet the criteria. It is facilitated by the City of London Academy (Southwark), a lead school in the most successful Multi Academy Trust in England, who are committed to developing outstanding practitioners - learning from the best of local, national and international practice. 

The programme will be delivered through a blended learning approach, comprising of six high quality professional lead sessions, online self-learning and school based development, including lesson studies and coaching from an SLE
