Arena grand opening: new home of COLA Basketball unveiled
Published: Wed 15 July 2026On Tuesday 7 July 2026 City of London Academy Southwark invited guests, colleagues, friends and former academy athletes to the grand opening of our brand new, purpose-built basketball facility. In the same month that COLA Basketball celebrated a former player drafted into the NBA for the first time, the opening of this incredible facility signals the academy’s unwavering investment in the future and continued belief in the power of sport to transform lives.
Guests, including some of GB Basketball’s most capped players, were treated to an exhibition match featuring our current boys’ and girls’ academy teams, as well as being invited up to complete against them in a free throw competition.
